Aside from these issues, the store is generally clean, organized, and has nice employees. I have met Rob, the store manager (he may not be anymore), and he was always polite and busy. One thing to take into consideration is the lousy pay these people put up with for the extreme amount of work expected of them. Regardless, I have always witnessed the employees doing what they must to keep the store running. For me, Kmart is of landmark value for Hastings due to its long lasting status compared to other major retail stores that eventually closed down.
I was purchasing items and realized I didn't have quite enough money on me, I was about 2 dollars short. I asked if I was able to remove things from the order and was told no that it was too late to do that, so I asked if we could cancel and restart and she started looking around for a manager. I asked if I had any reward points I could use if it would be easier and she said I had none. The customer behind me was gracious enough to pay the 2 dollars so we could move forward. After I received my receipt I noticed I had about 5 dollars worth of points I could have used. I will not be returning to this Kmart to shop.
I got a bean bag game from them for my kids for there birthday. And they used it2 times 2nd time they thur the bean bag it hit the board and the board fell apart. I tool it back and they said there wasn't anything they could do about it. I wood have to get a hold of who made it. And I had the receipt where I bought from them. I as not happy. Haven't been back. And then I'm handicap and the cart they have. It wood run a little bit and then stop. And a customer pushed me to the door so I could get a cart to put stuff in. No one that worked there offer to help me out. The cashier at register said that is our last chair. And they don't care if it works right or not they said they we're not getting another one. Handicap people will have to deal with it.
For a Kmart its one of the better ones. Its pretty clean.
This particular Kmart has helped me numerous times with purchases on things like clothes, electronics, hardware, and gifts in the past. I still enjoy the great sales on big and tall clothing I occasionally catch, but I am greatly disappointed in the loss of the electronics section. The last time I had been to this store, it was replaced by washers and dryers and similar large sized home appliances. The trading card section is not a great point of sale either. It could be that the company doesn't make it a point to put much attention in these products, but even so it's silly to see severely outdated merchandise.
Pleasant surprise. I really love this store and hadn't been in for quite some time.
